After the release of the greatly anticipated Batman: The Killing Joke, WB and DC are coming back with their next animated film, Justice League Dark. The film, like The Killing Joke, will have an R Rating. Perhaps the biggest news to come out about this film is that Matt Ryan is reprising his role as John Constantine. As you may remember, he starred as the character in the short lived NBC series (now available to stream on the CW Seed) and also guest starred as the character on last season’s Arrow.

The film sees  Justice League members Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman confronted with a demonic threat to the planet, forcing them to turn to occultist John Constantine, who in turn assembles his own team of characters experienced in the Dark Arts to help combat the supernatural plague affecting the Earth.

Today it was announced that the film will be released on Digital HD on January 24th and Blu-Ray & DVD on February 7th. A Deluxe Gift Set version of the Blu-Ray will also be available. Some of the scheduled bonus features are a sneak preview of the next scheduled DC animated release, “Teen Titans: The Judas Contract,” a featurette on the origins of Swamp Thing, a behind-the-scenes making-of mini documentary, and some footage from the movie’s 2016 New York Comic Con panel. Those features, as you know, are subject to change.

DC released the first trailer for the film the other day and you can view it by clicking the link below:

I, personally, am really excited about the film. I never had the chance to read any of the New 52 books but am familiar with the Constantine character. Plus you have Batman in the film so you can’t go wrong. The group is also rumored to make its DCEU debut sometime in the next few years so that’s also something to keep your eye on. Make sure to check out the film when it’s released!
